Cavity Wall Insulation
1. How will I know if my property is suitable for cavity wall insulation?
(i) If your property was built between 1932 and 1982 then you are likely to have cavity walls.
(ii) If the thickness of your wall is greater than 11inches then the likelihood of the property having a cavity is high.
2. How is cavity wall insulation installed?
The insulation is blown in through the holes made in the wall, which are no bigger than 18mm to 25mm. The holes are then filled in afterwards and matched to the existing appearance of your wall. It's all done from the outside, so it will not affect the appearance of the inside of your home.
3. Will the work be guaranteed?
Yes. Our cavity wall insulation has a 25 year guarantee.
Loft Insulation
1. I already have some loft insulation - I don't think I need anymore?
If you already have some loft insulation then you may need to have it topped up. If you have less than 3 inches of insulation it's worthwhile having a survey carried out to make sure you have the right amount.
2. How will I know if I can have loft insulation installed?
(i) If you live in a house or a flat which has loft space then you should be able to install loft insulation. Your loft hatch must be 400cm x 400cm in size.
(ii) If your loft is boarded we will not be able to insulate your loft, as we won't be able to remove the boards.
3. Will I need to remove anything from my loft before the insulation can be installed?
Not necessarily. Our experienced installers can normally work around a few items stored in the loft. When our surveyor carries out the survey they will be able to give you more information.
