1. Online:
If you have an online account:
- Log in to your online account.
- Select your energy, gas or electricity account by clicking on the 'manage account' link.
- Select 'submit meter readings' from the left hand navigation menu.
- Select the account(s) you wish to give a meter reading for.
- Enter your meter reading and click 'submit'.
Don't have an online account?
You can register for an online account now and submit your meter reading.
Please note: If you have a Smart meter we'll automatically take your meter readings. Find out more about Smart meters.
2. Using the British Gas mobile App:
Download the British Gas mobile App and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. By SMS text message:
You can submit your meter reading by text by replying to the text message we send you (we'll do this if you have already registered). If you haven't registered you can do so by calling us on 0800 048 0202*. We're open weekdays 8am-8pm and Saturdays 8am-6pm.
4. Over the phone:
You can tell us your meter reading by using our 24 hour automated service on 0800 107 0224.*
*Calls may be recorded and/or monitored for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
