London is a green place and we want to
keep it that way
We believe going green starts at home
At British Gas, we are committed to tackling climate change by minimising our own carbon emissions as a business, as well as helping homes and businesses to reduce their carbon footprint too.
Your home
We play a leading role in tackling fuel poverty and climate change by championing the efficient use of energy. We have installed more than 13 million energy efficiency products such as loft & cavity wall insulation and low energy light bulbs, saving around 1 million tonnes** in carbon emissions.
Over 13,000 of you participated in Make It Greener Where You Are - a campaign designed to help homes within each London borough make a pledge to do something different and with our 'Green Survival Kit' make that important first step toward a more sustainable way of living. Congratulations to the people of Brent who came out on top. Our Fete for the Future, was a sustainable event held on Clapham Common and a fitting reward for those who got involved in the campaign.

Our home
As a responsible energy supplier, we aim to contribute to the creation of a sustainable, low-carbon future while ensuring long term security of energy supplies for our customers.
For the third year running the electricity we supply has the lowest carbon emissions of any major supplier in Great Britain~. We're investing over £750m in renewable projects over 5 years. We have invested in six wind farm sites around Britain - one of which is the largest in the UK.
For businesses
In London we are working with London Better Together as their environmental delivery partner to promote business leadership in corporate responsibility. For more information, click here: www.londonbettertogether.org.uk

ii) Figures based on the analysis of one council tax scheme and carbon savings supplied by the Energy Savings Trust. The savings figures will vary according to the size of the dwelling, its location, the relevant energy-saving measure (if appropriate), the type of fuel used, the heating system and the materials used. The savings given are purely for information purposes only and are estimated from a number of standard property types and assume standard occupancy and heating patterns.
