Over the next five years, our parent company Centrica plans to invest a total of £750 million in sustainable energy.

Centrica is currently investing in six offshore wind farm developments, one of which, Barrow Offshore Wind, is now operational. Two others, Lynn and Inner Dowsing, are consented and offshore construction is expected to begin in 2007.

At the same time, Centrica is testing and looking at ways of using alternative fuels for our electricity power stations such as biofuels.

Centrica’s involvement goes beyond generation, too. Centrica is investigating a range of microgeneration technologies and pioneering the development of micro CHP for small scale and domestic applications.
