Affordable energy for all
At British Gas, one of our main concerns is affordable energy for all. This means making a positive impact on our customers’ quality of life and diminishing fuel poverty in the communities where we operate, as well as helping all our customers to reduce their energy bills. In difficult economic times, we believe that all UK citizens, irrespective of circumstance, should have access to safe, cleaner and affordable energy.
Energy efficiency is essential to saving money at home and with energy efficiency products; you can make considerable savings on your home energy bill. For example, loft insulation could save you up to £175 and cavity wall insulation up to £135 every year.

The Warm Home Discount Scheme
The Warm Home Discount (WHD) Scheme is a 4 year programme introduced in April 2011 run by the government and energy suppliers to provide rebates on the electricity bills of households that need it most in England, Scotland, and Wales.
The Warm Home Discount Scheme (WHDS) offers eligible customers a one-off payment on their electricity bill. For Winter 2012/13, this will be £130.
