As the nation’s largest energy supplier, we have been working hard to ensure buying energy is simple, transparent and fair for our customers. Last year, we simplified our tariff structure and bills, and the latest service we have introduced is ‘Tariff Check’.
Every six months, our 10 million customers will benefit from a personalised service that will show you if you can save money on a different tariff. We do this by taking your energy consumption over the previous 12 months. British Gas is the first major supplier to offer this service and we’ll be contacting all of our customers about it over the next 10 weeks. The best part is, you don’t even need to register for a ‘Tariff Check’, we’ll automatically add it to the ‘Can I save money?’ section of your bill.
We’ll also be flagging to our customers other ways you can save on your energy bills – including: insulation and energy efficiency measures; the EnergySmart online toolkit that features a free electricity monitor; and Nectar points, which can be earned by all British Gas customers.
