The Government has stipulated that all homes must have a smart meter by the end of 2019.

Smart meters send us automatic readings (for both gas and electricity) so that we can get accurate information on household energy consumption which means an end to estimated bills.  These clever meters also communicate to a smart energy monitor, which gives customers an instant view of when and how they use their energy.
