Do you know of a not-for-profit organisation in your area that has succeeded in tackling fuel poverty and reducing carbon emissions? If so, the NEA (National Energy Action) Community Footprint Awards needs to hear from you.

Sponsored by British Gas, the NEA Community Footprint Awards pick nine regional winners to receive £2,000 each, with the overall national winner receiving a further £3,000!

Previous winners include the Briquette Project, a team that worked with a local prison to make briquettes from the sawdust created from the prison workshop. These briquettes were then distributed locally to people in fuel poverty, to be used in open fires to complement coal use and help cut costs.

So, if you know of any projects in your local area that deserve an award, just get them to submit an entry by this Thursday 27th September.  Find out more information and how to enter by clicking here
