Deemed Rates
When do our Deemed rates apply?
Our Deemed rates apply when you move into a new premise where we are the existing supplier, and you have not actively agreed to a new supply of gas and/or electricity from us. In such circumstances you will be 'deemed' to have automatically taken a contract with us as the gas or electricity supplier of the previous occupant. You will, by default have been placed on our 'deemed tariff' which is necessarily more expensive than our most competitive offer. Our Deemed rates will not apply to you if you are on 'Out of Contract' rates. To find out more about our 'Out of Contract' rates please see below.

Out of Contract Rates
When do our Out of Contract rates apply?
Our Out of Contract rates apply by default for customers who have not agreed a pricing arrangement with us or where a pricing arrangement has expired or been terminated and has not been renewed for any reason. We will charge customers at our 'Out of Contract' rates for the entire period that they take a supply of gas and/or electricity while no other pricing arrangement exists. Our 'Out of Contract' rates will necessarily be more expensive than our most competitive offer. Our 'Out of Contract' rates will not apply to you if we are charging you based on our Deemed rates. To find out more about 'Deemed' rates and when they apply please see above.

What if my new supplier increases its prices or changes contract terms?
Your new supplier must give you at least 10 days advance written notice of significant changes to contract terms. You then have a further 14 days to decide whether you want to end your contract and switch to another supplier. If you do decide to move, you must let your supplier know. Any energy that you then use will then be billed at the old contract rate until you transfer to a different supplier.
What choice of controls do you have?
In business, one size doesn't fit all, which is why we offer a range of contracts both fixed and flexible. We can assess your supply requirements and consumption patterns and suggest alternative deal structures from our extensive product range. We can even create a contract especially for you. See our Products & Services section for more details. Please contact us on 0845 026 4652 and we'll be happy to give you more information about your account and contract.
