Savings of £136,000 per year
BMSi, part of British Gas Business, is responsible for energy management and buildings management systems at Terminal 4, as well as at Terminals 1, 2 and 3, Stansted, and a number of other locations. Increase in air traffic placed additional pressures on Terminal 4's infrastructure and existing technologies meant there was room for improvement in energy usage.
In 2004, BMSi put together a proposal outlining ways of saving energy, resulting in a series of highly successful projects. Predictions of £103,000 savings a year were eclipsed with actual savings of £136,000 per year. CO2 savings also came in at 33% above forecast, and HV readings showed a monthly improvement of 37%. Impressively, the project had been achieved at a relatively low cost, requiring no major financial investment. As a result, the team has been awarded the responsibility for Terminal 5 as well.
It's not just with environmentalists that the Airdolphin wind turbine has become popular, the staff at YMCA are also seeing the benefits of this wind generation technology. After completing a number of site surveys in Penzance, the Energy360 team were able to select the Airdolphin as the most appropriate technology from their extensive CleanGen Solutions portfolio.
We worked with the University of Brighton with the objectives to reduce costs and improve control; this project became one of the largest and most prestigious building projects in the University's history. We helped to 'future proof' the University's BEMS system by enabling BEMS communication over the University's existing IT network.
Energy360 is about more than technology. It's also about the people dedicated to helping ensure that your energy delivers its true potential, time after time. With years of experience in the field, our team of Energy360 Business Managers are widely skilled and possess in-depth understanding of the key energy challenges faced by organisations today. Here are just a few of the people involved in Energy360.

Sector Leader - Hospitality, Retail and Finance
Darren Castles, Business Manager, Energy360Like our other Energy360 consultants, Darren Castles has the rare ability to communicate highly complex and technical concepts in layman's language. In Darren's case, the ability was formed years ago as the GM of a US technology business; an ability that helped him to subsequently advise customers on, for example, the best controls solution for reducing energy costs and Co2 output in their refrigeration and air-conditioning plants.
Today, he is one of our leading experts in these areas and has a true insight into the energy needs of all sizes of companies, an insight reflected in his emphasis on using customer focus and customer relationships to meet their expectations.
