  By upgrading to a smart meter you can ensure accurate meter readings so that you only ever pay for the energy you've used.

  Your smart meter can be installed in the place of your current electricity meter. Once installed it transmits your meter readings directly to us via a SIM card in the meter, just like a mobile phone.

  We'll regularly collect your readings via a secure encrypted service and as soon as we've set up your new smart meter on our billing systems you'll receive accurate bills, based on your actual electricity usage. You'll have better control over your business energy costs because you'll only ever pay for what you've used.

• Choose an installation time to suit you

  It's straightforward to upgrade to a smart meter. Your old meter will be upgraded by one of our expert installers at a time that's convenient for your business. You can choose a two-hour slot for install from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

• Hassle-free installation

  The installation will take a minimum of an hour and we'll try to keep any disruption to a minimum. All you need to do is make sure any sensitive equipment like alarms, telephony systems and lighting is switched off and we'll then take care of the rest.

  We'll take your final meter readings from your old meter and start the process of setting up your new smart meter on our billing systems. If your next bill is due during this time it may not show your smart meter readings straight away. However, once your meter is set up in our billing system you will benefit from accurate, smart bills and no more estimates.**
