Funding

We can help you to achieve your organisation's gas reduction targets, and comply with EU legislation, using various government-funded initiatives and incentives.

Renewable Heat Incentives (RHI)

The Renewable Heat Incentive promotes the uptake of renewable heat installations in UK homes and businesses. It does this by giving long-term financial support to people who install biomass, ground and air source heat pumps, solar thermal systems. RHI is the world's first scheme of its kind.

Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP)

The Community Energy Saving Programme aims to cut the fuel bills of the UK's lowest 10%-15% income households. We've committed £120 million to CESP over the last three years. That's the largest commitment of any contributor, with a 32% share of the total, and three times greater than the second largest contributor. During this time, we've launched the UK's first CESP in Walsall and partnered with many other CESP areas to offer insulation, solar energy and fuel switching to name just a few CESP measures.

Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT)

The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target was launched in 2008. It requires all domestic energy suppliers with more than 50,000 customers to cut the amount of carbon their customers emit. CERT aims to save 293 million tons of carbon by the end of 2012. We intend to save a third of our target by installing insulation for our customers and encouraging them to switch to mains gas.

Feed in Tariff (FIT)

The government's feed-in tariff rewards homes and businesses that generate their own low carbon energy, by paying for every kilowatt hour of electricity generated from a renewable source. They also pay extra for unused electricity that can be fed into the national grid. It means you could be paid for at least the next 20 years - that's on top of the savings you'll make by not having to buy all your electricity from a supplier.

Green Deal

The Green Deal aims to make it more affordable for people to install energy efficiency systems in their homes. If you put an energy efficiency installation in your home, you'll have no upfront payment and can repay the cost through the savings you make on your energy bills over time.

Energy Services Company (ESCo)

An Energy Services Company is a body set up by a group of residents, housing associations or local authorities to put in a place an energy scheme or schemes for their community. The aim is to save energy and produce more efficient, sustainable, low carbon options. You can set up an ESCo in partnership with an energy company (or not) and use private sector contractors to provide services such as maintenance and customer billing. The benefits include guaranteed performance and the expertise of modern techniques. You can also recover your project costs through energy savings and negotiable financing. If you want to set up an ESCO, we can help.

Public sector

We understand that energy prices, regulation and social responsibility are all putting pressure on you and your organisation. So we'll look at your energy needs and tailor a range of solutions to help you meet your duties and targets. This could include renewable energies, electric vehicles and financial incentives.
