Council Tax Rebate Scheme

We are committed to working with local authorities to help residents save energy and money as well as helping the environment by improving home energy efficiency. One of the ways we are doing this is through our council tax rebate scheme.

Each household who invests in home insulation from British Gas under this scheme will receive a rebate of up to £100 from their local authority* and could see energy savings of around £200 a year through installing loft and cavity wall insulation^**.

So far we are working with 64 local councils

With your help, we want to lead the way in championing energy efficiency in your local area. One of the best ways to make homes more energy efficient is through loft and cavity wall insulation.

British Gas offer extremely competitive retail prices, a smooth installation process along with proven high levels of customer satisfaction.

Private households who purchase home insulation through British Gas in this scheme^* will receive:

• Up to £100 Council Tax Rebate^*
• Approximately £200 annual energy savings through installing both loft and cavity wall Insulation^**
• Free Energy Efficiency Assessment

* Installation subject to your home not having more than 5 bedrooms and being suitable for this work. Not all properties are suitable for cavity wall insulation. The rebate amount will vary on individual Council Tax Rebate schemes.
