Its taken British Gas 6 years to sort out my problem and numerous visits from the engineers. It has cost me a fortune and I have never received any form of compensation.
Wish I had never used them in the first place. I must say their engineers are polite even if they don't know what they are doing.

The engineer who installed the boiler could not have been more helpful on the day,particularly when the boiler which had been recommended could not be installed as agreed because the flue would not fit through my roof space. As a result of this a plasterer had to be called out to fill the hole the fitter had put in the ceiling to install the flue, and the boiler had to be fitted on the wall at a lower level than I had anticipated. None of this was the fault of the fitter but I was disappointed that the heating adviser did not take enough steps and measurements to ensure that the boiler he advised me to order could be fitted in my kitchen in the way he told me it would be, but at least it led to me getting a substantial refund on the price quoted as the lengthy flue he had ordered could not be fitted.
