A speedy & efficient job was done, however, we did have to call the engineer back the following day, due to a leak because of a bad solder joint. This was also resolved quickly, hence not the top score.

We began with a visit from a helpful heating engineer. This seemed to result in a straightforward recommendation for a new boiler with similar features to our existing old one. Unfortunately no mention was made of the fact that on the new boiler the temperature output from the boiler could not be controlled by the user, ie there was no boiler thermostat. Instead the heat output had to be set by the installer and we would then be stuck with it. We only discovered this once the new boiler was installed. At that point it was apparent that insufficient heat was being sent to the central heating radiators and we arranged for someone to come back and increase the heat output. This was done and for the moment (it is spring) all seems to be well, but it is not clear whether the system will produce what is desired in cold winter weather. Soon after this visit, however, a problem developed with the hot water which started staying on continuously and did not respond to the timer controls. An engineer came back to fix this and changed a valve. That sorted the hot water aspect but it became apparent that as a result of the work whenever the hot water was on the central heating also came on, whether or not it was set to do so - so we couldn't get hot water without at the same time getting a warm house. Another engineer came, changed another valve, and now, for the moment, the system seems to be working fine. But I wish now that I'd gone to an independent local company that could have provided a better service.

Confirmed purchaser

Overall an excellent service. Our old boiler gave up, within a couple of hours fan heaters were delivered. The next day the gas advisor arrived, advice was excellent, 2 days later the boiler was fitted and working.
Only gave an 8 because the side panel of the boiler wasn't fitted correctly. However rectified next day.
