Will the supplier stick to the quote?

You want to be sure that the amount you’ve been quoted is what you’ll actually pay after installation, and that no extra costs will be added.


At British Gas we always honour quotes, regardless of any additional work required.

Is the engineer who will install your boiler Gas Safe registered?

All boiler installations in the UK must be completed by engineers who are Gas Safe registered. Any installation not completed by someone with these credentials will be illegal and possibly dangerous.

At British Gas all our engineers are Gas Safe registered and work to the very highest safety and quality standards.

Have you been offered energy efficiency advice and products?

A new boiler is just one part of your heating system. Have you been advised on new energy efficient products that could help reduce your gas and electricity bills?

At British Gas, our expert heating advisors can advise you on the right products and technologies for your system and home such as individual temperature radiator controls and insulation which can help keep you keep your home even warmer and save you money at the same time.

Do they only install A-Rated boilers?

An A-rated boiler will give you maximum efficiency and long term cost savings, also reducing your impact on the environment.

At British Gas we only install A-rated boilers.

Will the company provide after care for your boiler once your installation is complete?

Sometimes after an installation, new heating systems can go wrong. Have you got sufficient back-up and aftercare to help look after your system after installation?

At British Gas, we provide you with HomeCare 200™, giving you access to our 24/7 365 day call centre and our repair and maintenance services free of charge. Also, if we installed your boiler and it's less than 10 years old, plus you have had a continuous boiler and controls or whole heating system agreement with us for that boiler, we will provide a replacement boiler if it is not possible to repair it.

Will your heating system be cleaned and protected?

Installing a new boiler into an old system can be a bit like installing a new engine into an old car. It pays to ensure that the two will be compatible and that you’re using clean and protected fluids in the system.

At British Gas we have the latest Magnetic System Filter and Powerflush technology available at an additional cost which can make a real difference to your system.

Have you been offered different payment options?

Many installers will ask for a large deposit before the installation and will require you to pay only by cheque or cash, which may be difficult, as a new boiler is a significant investment.


At British Gas we have several payment options. We accept credit and debit cards and have flexible finance schemes to allow you to spread your payments. In most cased we only require a 10% deposit before starting work on your installation.
