Our new dual fuel package, Zero Carbon, is our greenest energy tariff on the domestic market. It leaves absolutely no carbon footprint from the gas and electricity we supply and will increase the investment into the production of more green energy in the UK.

No carbon footprint

As a Zero Carbon customer, we will match all the electricity you use with electricity from renewable sources. This is supplied to the national grid, which in turn supplies your home. We will also offset 100% of the carbon emissions from the gas and electricity we supply to you so you’ll have a zero carbon footprint from the energy from British Gas.

Investing in green energy

As part of our Zero Carbon package, we will buy more green electricity, over and above our legal obligation, which in return increases investment into green energy production in the UK.
How do we do this?

Green energy for tomorrow

Your £7** a month will also contribute to the non-profit British Gas Energy for Tomorrow Fund which will invest in developing renewable energy sources and technologies for the future.

It will also help educate children on energy and environmental issues and help schools in Great Britain reduce their CO₂ emissions to become greener.

Notes

** Based on industry average energy consumptions of 275 kWh per month for electricity and 1,708 kWh per month for gas, customers will pay an approximate additional £6.97 per month inc VAT (based on payment by monthly direct debit) premium on top of our standard energy prices. This is charged at a premium per unit of energy you use so the amount you pay per month depends on the amount of energy you use.
