What does your home need?

The Safe & Secure system is easily tailored to your home and very portable.

Your starter kit contains the devices you need to install a basic Safe & Secure system. But you can add to it at any time to create a more advanced set-up.

This could mean buying more of the same devices contained in the starter kit, or buying other devices not already included.

It depends on your home, your family and the level of safety and security you want.

• How big is your home?
• How many floors does your home have?
• How old is your home?
• (Bear in mind that the average range of our wireless devices is 20 metres. This may be lower if the signal has to go through walls or ceilings. So, a large period home on several floors may call for extra sensors and/or extra SmartPlugs to act as signal boosters.)
• How many windows are on the ground floor?
• How many people live in your home?
• How many other people need access to your home? (E.g. cleaner or nanny?)
• How many people do you want to have access to your home when you're away? (E.g. neighbours or relatives?)
• Do you have pets?
• How many electrical appliances do you want to monitor (for energy consumption) and control (remotely switch on and off)?
• How many access routes are there to your home?
• Are these open or concealed?

If you need help with deciding what to add to your starter kit, our engineers will do a Safe & Secure 'health check' of your home when they come to install your system. We can make recommendations specific to your home and personal needs.

If you move home, you can take your entire Safe & Secure system with you. You can then add to it at a later date if your new home needs extra devices.
