Solar thermal panels use energy from the sun to generate heating for your home's water.

How solar thermal works

There are three main parts to a solar thermal system: solar panels, a heat transfer system, and a hot water cylinder.

The panels are fitted to your roof and collect heat from the sun. The heat transfer system then transfers the heat collected to a dedicated solar hot water cylinder. The water is warmed within the cylinder and stored there for
later use.

For your home to be suitable for solar thermal panels, you need a roof that is south or south westerly facing your roof ideally should not
be flat.
