What is the Green Deal?

The Green Deal is a proposed Government initiative that is currently scheduled to be launched in late 2012. The idea is to give householders the opportunity to access energy saving improvements for their home, without upfront costs and repayments to be made for up to 25 years. Properties will be assessed for energy efficient improvements that could help householders save energy and money.

British Gas and the Green Deal

At British Gas we are always looking for ways to help customers be more energy efficient, save money and lower their carbon emissions. Before the Government plan to launch their Green Deal, we are offering our customers, who pay by Direct Debit, a British Gas home energy plan.

What is a Home energy plan?

We want to provide you with a full home assessment where we will survey your property and provide you with recommendations on the right solutions for your home. This could be anything from insulation which costs from £199*, to solar panels costing around £9,999 (2.3kWp system) so you can generate your own electricity at home. We also plan to offer no upfront costs and the ability to pay for your improvements for up to 15 years.
