Start at Buckingham Palace. Walk down The Mall towards Trafalgar Square where you'll spot your first Victorian gas lamps on the left (electric lights are on the right).

Turn right off The Mall and walk down Horse Guards Road to Horse Guards Parade where you'll find more gas lamps.

Walk through Horse Guards Parade to Whitehall and witness the historical Changing the Guard Ceremony (11am Mon-Sat and 10am Sun).

Turn right up Whitehall and walk up to Trafalgar Square. Take a picture with one of the lion statues, known as the 'Landseer Lions' surrounding Nelson's Column.

Exit Trafalgar Square on the right hand side and head towards Charing Cross Road. From Charing Cross Road, walk up St Martin's Lane. Take in the amazing landmarks including the London Coliseum, home of the English National Opera.

Turn right off St Martin's Lane and head into Goodwin's Court (keep an eye out for the right turn down this little alleyway).

Pretend you're wand shopping as you walk through Goodwin's Court, the inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.

Turn left out of Goodwin's Court and then turn immediately right into New Row and head towards Covent Garden where your journey will be illuminated by the Victorian gas lamps - especially around St. Paul's Church.
