Help4Homes. What is the Help4Homes scheme?

British Gas is the primary funder of a scheme called Help4Homes, which supports householders that are fuel poor or at risk of entering fuel poverty. Help4Homes is run by Effective Energy Solutions. Offering free advice on your energy usage and benefits you may be entitled to, through to energy saving measures.

Who can benefit from the Help4Homes scheme?

It does not matter whether you rent or own a property, if you qualify under one of the following, Help4Homes can help:

  • Someone in the household on means tested benefits
  • If you have a prepayment meter
  • Your energy bills are 15% or more of your total household income

Help4Homes will need to verify and take evidence but will talk you through this.

How can Help4Homes help you?

Help4Homes provides a range of support services. They will talk you through all to see if you could benefit from them:

  • Energy Advice
  • Benefit Entitlement Advice
  • House Energy Assessment
  • Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation
  • Solar PV Systems
  • White Goods
  • Gas Boilers (subject to further qualifications, e.g. aged 65 or over, under the compulsory school age, health problems / disability meaning you are more vulnerable to impacts of a cold home)
