We're offering these bundles to homes across England and Wales with gas central heating to help you take control of your energy use and start saving on your bills.

You don’t need to be a British Gas customer to apply, and you can choose between our Hive Connected Home or Hive Tenant bundle – whichever suits your home best.

Which Hive smart bundle is right for me?

We have two great options depending on your home setup, and you can see what’s included in each bundle below.

If you are a homeowner, you can qualify for the Hive Connected Home bundle. This includes a Hive thermostat and a 12-month Hive+ heating subscription and will help you get the most out of your smart setup.

If you’re renting (or you don't have permission to change the thermostat), the Hive Tenant bundle is the perfect fit. This means you can always take your smart products with you if you move.

What do I need to have Hive installed?

You’ll need a working 24/7 broadband connection. If you're applying for the Hive Connected Home bundle, you'll also need:

  • Any existing heating controls you have to be in full working order
  • A fully functioning gas boiler
  • To be a homeowner or have permission from your landlord­.

Which bundle is right for me?

If you live in England or Wales and either own your home or have landlord permission to change your thermostat, you may be eligible for the Hive Connected Home bundle. This includes a smart thermostat and 12 months of Hive+ subscription.

If you live in rented accommodation or social housing, the Hive Tenant bundle might be a better fit. It includes radiator TRVs, smart bulbs, and smart plugs - all designed for easy self-installation.

What is a Hive thermostat?

The Hive Thermostat keeps working in the background to help you save money every single day. Use the precision-calibrated dial to set your heating directly on the device – or do it all in the Hive app.

What is a Hive TRV?

Hive Radiator Valves let you control the temperature in each room individually. That means you can stay cosy in the lounge without wasting energy heating the spare room - saving you money every day.

What is a Hive smart bulb?

Hive Lights do more than just brighten a room. You can set the mood and save energy. Our smart LEDs use a minimal amount of electricity to keep your bills low – and you can see exactly how much in the Hive app. It’s a handy reminder to switch them off when you don’t need them.

What is a Hive smart plug?

From your TV to your tumble dryer, Hive Plugs give you control over your devices through the Hive app. Just plug them in like a regular adaptor and enjoy a smarter home.

I’ve registered my interest - what happens next?

Hive Connected Home bundle

  • Hive Connected Home bundle - the Hive team will give you a call to ask a few questions about your heating setup. They’ll also arrange for an engineer to professionally install your thermostat. Their number may show as 0330 333 1069 or appear as withheld. Some networks may flag it as suspected spam - so please make sure to answer.
  • Hive Tenant bundle - once your eligibility is confirmed, the Hive team will send your bundle out for you to self-install and start saving. Once they’re set up, we’ll monitor the connectivity to make sure everything is fully connected and working properly.

What happens to my Hive+ membership after 12 months?

Near the end of your free membership, Hive will email you with the option to extend. The email will include any costs involved. The membership will not auto-renew. If you decide not to continue, your Hive products will still work with the basic Hive app.

I’m getting a Hive Connected Home bundle, how long will the engineer be in my property?

Installation usually takes 1–2 hours, and someone aged 18 or over must be present during the visit.
