Do you need a landlord gas safety record?

Landlords have obligations to check all the gas appliances and installations on the premises are safe. If you're a business owner with tenants or guests (e.g. hotel or care home) then you're classed as a landlord.

A Landlord's Gas Safety Record helps you to meet this obligation by providing:

  • A safety inspection on your appliance, gas meter and installation pipe work
  • A Gas Safety Record

You can buy a Landlord’s Gas Safety Record when you agree a Business Care contract or Annual Service with us.

Frequently asked questions

If my boiler or appliance isn't working right now, can I buy Business Care?

A: To buy Business Care, your boiler or appliance needs to be working. If it's not, no problem. We'll fix it with a one-off commercial boiler repair

Does the age or manufacturer of my boiler or heating appliance matter?

A: No, as long as it's in working order when you take out Business Care and we can source spare parts. Our Gas Safe registered engineers are highly trained and experienced, and work on a wide range of boilers and manufacturers.

What gas appliances can you service?

A: Our Gas Safe registered engineers are trained to service most gas appliances. Speak to our dedicated business team to find out about the Business Care plans available for your appliances.

A: You can book a repair, or talk to us about your existing Business Care or Careplan agreement on 0333 202 9844*. We're here all day, every day to help.

Is Business Care a commercial boiler insurance product?

A: Business Care is not commercial boiler insurance, but instead a business boiler care plan product. Business Care includes a commercial boiler service and maintenance contract, with the option to also include gas appliances or your central heating system.

What if I'm looking for a plan for my home or a home I rent out?

[1] All prices quoted exclude VAT which will be charged at an additional 20%. All prices quoted are based on a boiler of up to 40kW. The monthly prices quoted for Business Care Core, Business Care Essential and Business Care Plus are based on an unlimited call-outs basis with no separate call-out fee. You can choose to lower the monthly cost by choosing to pay an additional fixed call-out fee of £79 each time you require an engineer to visit your property. The monthly price you’ll pay will vary depending on your business location and the size and type of boiler or gas appliance you have. We will complete a first inspection to check the details you’ve provided are correct. If we find any problems during the initial inspection, we may be required to change your contract and you may have to pay an additional cost. If you choose to cancel your contract, we may charge reasonable costs incurred to date and certain cancellation charges will apply. Full terms and conditions (pdf 297KB).
