How the National Distribution Centre helps our customers
Our engineers carry lots of parts in their vans. But if they don’t have the part, we can order it from our National Distribution Centre. With over 40,000 parts in stock, our National Distribution Centre gets the parts needed to our engineers fast.

“We are the central distribution centre. We have about 13,000 field-based customers; they range from gas engineers, to plumbers, to electricians. Various companies, PH Jones, Dyno-Rod, who are all part of the Centrica network.
We supply all field operatives with pretty much everything they need to do their job, so we’ve got 40,000 stock lines here. They range from gas parts, to electrical parts, to consumables. Anything that the operative needs, we supply from here.
If you think about click-and-collect, we’ve been operating that model for about 16 years now and our main partner is Royal Mail. So an engineer orders their part, we prepare that part for distribution, the last vehicle leaves this site at 10.30pm every evening, and then that will arrive at a Royal Mail distribution centre for about 7.45am. Royal Mail do about 14,000 miles every evening for us.
We opened 10 years ago and we’ve got some long standing people. A mixture of ages, a mixture of genders and it just makes for a really wholesome environment to work in. Ultimately we are servicing our customers, so we pride ourselves on getting anything, anywhere in the country within a reasonable amount of time.
And what sets us apart from all of our competitors is that when the merchants are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and every bank holiday in the year, we’re still open for business.”

Q. Do you fix every type of boiler?
A: Our highly trained engineers can repair nearly every type of gas boiler. We don’t fix oil boilers, electric boilers, and solid fuel boilers.
Q. Will your engineer fix my business boiler in one visit?
A: It depends on what the problem is, but we’ll always do our best. Our engineers carry lots of parts in their vans. If we don’t have the part, we’ll order it from our National Distribution Centre and the part will usually be available the next day.
Q. What should I do if I already have a services contract (Careplan or Business Care) with British Gas?
A: If you already have a services contract with us, you don’t need a one-off repair or Repair and Business Care. You can book a repair by calling the existing customer helpline on 0800 294 8562. We’re here all day, every day to help.
Q. What should I do if I have a boiler breakdown in my home?
A: Just give us a call on 0800 975 1918 and one of our home team will help you. We’re here all day, every day to help.
One-off repair service and repair and care
**Price of £30 per month is based on a boiler under 40 kW and will be for your boiler only. The monthly price quoted is based on an unlimited call-outs basis with no separate call-out fee. You can choose to lower the monthly cost by choosing to pay an additional fixed call-out fee of £79 each time you require an engineer to visit your property. The monthly price you’ll pay will vary depending on your business location and the size and type of boiler or gas appliance you have.
