What is plumbing and drains cover?

Plumbing and drains cover is an insurance product that combines plumbing cover and drains cover. If you ever have any problems with your home's plumbing or drains, just go online and book an appointment. One of our Dyno-Rod experts will be round to fix things. All parts and labour are included as part of the service, and you also get unlimited call-outs all year round.

Why would I choose plumbing and drains cover?

Plumbing and drains cover is a great way of getting extra peace of mind, but it's not generally seen as an essential type of cover like home insurance for homeowners. It's especially useful for people who don't have a network of trusted tradespeople because you have the reassurance that comes with 24/7 access to experts from Dyno-Rod – one of the leading names in the industry.

What happens to my renewal price after the first year?

Your price at renewal will likely increase, but you'll get a reminder. If you’re paying by direct debit, you will automatically renew, however you can still choose to change or cancel your contract, we'll contact you before your renewal date to remind you.​

Why am I getting a different price after entering my address?

We use information about your location to tailor the price you pay for plumbing and drains cover. Factors such as water hardness and property type may influence claims costs, which is reflected in your price.

You can call us on 0333 202 9668* Monday to Friday: 8am - 8pm, Saturday 8am - 2pm.

*We may record calls to help improve our service to you. Calls to 0330/0333 numbers will cost you no more than 01 or 02 numbers from landlines or mobiles. If you get 'inclusive minutes' with your package, calls to 0330/0333 numbers will be part of these.

How do I cancel my cover?

There are three ways you can cancel your cover:

Our call centre and web chat teams are available Mon to Fri, 8am-8pm and Sat to Sun, 8am-6pm.

If you cancel within the first 14 day of your cover start date, we’ll give you a full refund minus charges for work completed prior to cancelling. We call this the ‘cooling-off period’.

If you cancel after 14 days, we will refund any premiums paid for the remaining insured period, less any administration fees. Where a repair or service has taken place, you may have to pay the remainder of your annual premium.

  • Unblocking and repairing your drains and waste pipes to restore flow​
  • Accidental damage​
  • Up to £1,000 to gain access and make good for each repair

  • Claims in the first 14 days​
  • Showers and their parts, shower pumps, sanitary ware and sealant​
  • Shared drains​
  • ​Faults caused by someone else you used for repairs or design faults

This benefit is only available for British Gas Members. Benefit available to homeowners who do not currently have Plumbing & Drains or equivalent cover at their specified property. £60 excess per repair applies.

For new British Gas Services customers, the discount will apply to the first year’s cost only. For existing British Gas Services customers, the discount will apply to the remaining term of your existing services contract for that property. Renewals will be charged in accordance with our standard pricing. We will contact you about any change to the price.

A maximum of 9 properties can be covered per customer. Benefit cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers that may be available on your Plumbing and Drains product.

Offer ends 1st April 2026.

What’s included

  • Repairs to your gas central heating system, including boiler, controls, radiators and hot water cylinder​
  • Annual service of your boiler to make sure it's running safely and efficiently. Your annual boiler services may be more than 12 months apart​
  • Repairs to the plumbing system in your home and outbuildings and the water supply pipe within the boundary of your property​
  • Unblocking and repairing your drains and waste pipes to restore flow​
  • Accidental Damage​
  • Up to £1,000 to gain access and make good for each repair

What’s not included

  • Claims in the first 14 days​
  • Removing sludge or scale or repairing the damage it causes if we tell you it might be a problem for your system or boiler​
  • Showers and their parts, shower pumps, sanitary ware and sealant​
  • Shared drains​
  • Faults caused by someone else you used for repairs or design faults

Offer T&Cs

This offer is available to homeowners who do not currently have HomeCare at their specified property and have not held a HomeCare product for that property in the previous 3 months.​

For new British Gas Services customers, the discount will apply to the first year’s cost only. For existing British Gas Services customers, the discount will apply to the remaining term of your existing services contract for that property. Renewals will be charged in accordance with our standard pricing. We will contact you about any change to the price.​

A maximum of 9 properties can be covered per customer (whether as homeowner or landlord). Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers that may be available on your chosen HomeCare product.​

Offer ends 1st April 2026.
