How to enter your top up code

  • Press the top button to illuminate the display screen.
  • Press the bottom button until the > is beside ‘PREPAYMENT’.
  • Press the top button to select.
  • Press the bottom button until the > is beside ‘Enter UTRN’.
  • Press the top button to select it.
  • To enter your 20-digit top up code, press the bottom button repeatedly until it gets to the number you need. To move to the next numbe, press the top button again.
  • Enter all 20 digits correctly. Press and hold the Top button to submit your code. You will see the 'Top-up Accepted' message.
  • If the code is incorrect, the message "Invalid Top-up Incorrect" will appear. Then, the screen will return to "ENTER U." To fix this, repeat the process and enter the UTRN correctly.

How to turn your electricity back on

If you run out of credit, your electricity will switch off. To turn it back on, you can top up or use emergency credit. For safety, you need to confirm you're ready for the electricity to start up. To turn your electricity back on:

  • You will see the An example image icon in the bottom right of the display flashing. This shows the supply is off.
  • Press the top button to display the main menu.
  • Press the bottom button to move through the menu options.
  • Once you reach the option that says ‘Prepayment>Supply’ press the top button.
  • The message ‘Supply State Armed’ will appear.
  • To enable the supply, press and hold the top button.
  • A click can be heard and the screen will then display ‘Supply State Enabled’ and the supply should now be reconnected, showing the An example imagesymbol.

How to activate Emergency Credit

If you can't top up your meter for any reason, you have access to £10 of Emergency Credit. Once used, you need to pay back everything you've spent. We will deduct the amount owed from your next top up. Please note that sometimes the amount owed will be more than £10. This is because your meter may be due standing charges or debt you're repaying at a weekly amount.

  • Press the upper button to enter the main menu.
  • Now press the lower button to scroll through the menu options.
  • Once you reach the option 'Prepayment' press the upper button to select it.
  • Then use the lower button to go through the prepayment options.
  • Once you reach 'Financial' press the upper button to select.
  • Your current meter balance will be shown.
  • Press the lower button to take you to the emergency credit option where you will see 'EC; Available
  • Press the upper button to display the screen to accept the emergency credit.
  • The lower button allows you to switch between 'Yes' and 'No'.
  • Press the upper button to select.
  • Its will then show 'EC status in use'.
