New Jobs Announced – Case Study - Janet Kerr, Uddingston

Janet explained: “Having worked for the same company for more than 10 years, I felt I'd achieved all I could and was keen to find a new role, where I could challenge myself to achieve even more.

"So when an old colleague, who'd already made the move to Scottish Gas, got in touch to tell me how well he was doing, I decided to look into the opportunities available."

Janet applied to Scottish Gas, and after successfully completing an assessment and passing an interview, secured a position as a Business Manager.

Janet continued: "When I found out I'd been successful in my application, I felt really proud. I knew I had an opportunity to contribute to an organisation with such a strong brand, and was keen to hit the ground running to meet my new colleagues and share my customer service knowledge and experience.

"I was also looking forward to the challenge of adapting to a new work environment and the opportunity to learn from the team and continue to develop my skills.

"As a customer service leader I feel I've joined Scottish Gas at a really exciting time and have a real chance to help shape and influence the customer experience and contribute to the company's continued success.

"I've already seen evidence that Scottish Gas is a business that empowers its employees and rewards hard work with development and career advancement opportunities.

"I definitely feel I've made the right move and look forward to continuing to develop my career with a forward-thinking organisation. I'd recommend a role with Scottish Gas to anyone."
