British Gas chooses new media partner

British Gas today announced that it has appointed MediaCom to run its media planning and buying account, following a competitive pitch.

MediaCom will take over the account which includes British Gas, Hive, Dyno and Local Heroes from December 1st, initially for a three-year period. The account was previously run by Carat.

British Gas Marketing Director Margaret Jobling commented: “We’re changing  - moving from being just a utility company to being a modern, dynamic customer-centric organisation. We’re transforming our business, so that we continue to be relevant and future facing, and the pace of change in the media landscape is incredible.

Margaret Jobling also expressed gratitude to Carat, the agency which has run the account since 2002.

“They have supported us through a lot of change and have contributed to many of our successful campaigns.”

The pitch process was managed by ID Comms for British Gas.
