What is it?

When you register your Nectar card with us you'll get regular reward emails. Together with Nectar we'll send you specially selected offers from well known Nectar brands. And you can still get one-off points offers to boost your Nectar balance.

How do I get involved?

If you've already set up an online account and registered your Nectar card, you'll automatically get our reward emails. If not, just register for an online account then register your Nectar card. Once you've done this, the rewards will soon be heading your way.

Q. How will I find out about each monthly reward?

A: We will send details of our exclusive offers by email. The easiest way to get involved is to create an online account and register your Nectar card. Register now

Q. I received the reward email but it sold out quickly, have I missed out?

A: Unfortunately we only have a limited number of rewards available each time but we are looking at ways we can reward more of our customers each time, keep an eye on your emails.

Q. What if I don't have an email address?

A: We're sorry, we won't be able to send you details of our exclusive offers. But you'll be able to check our latest offers online with details on how to claim.

Q. How do I collect points with British Gas?

A: On 31st December 2015 all points from British Gas stopped so you won't automatically collect points anymore. We'll email and publish online limited time points based offers and rewards instead. We'll also be adding offers to nectar.com and the Nectar app.

Q. What will happen to the points I've already collected with British Gas?

A: All points collected up until 31st December are available for you to spend as you like. You can find a full list of ways to spend points at nectar.com.

Q. How many rewards will be available?

A: Rewards will be of limited availability and offered on a first come first served basis. So when they’re gone they’re gone. Some rewards will be offered as prize draws.

Q. Why did I not receive a reward email?

A: To check we have the right email address for you and to ensure you have not opted out to receive loyalty communications, please email  nectar@britishgas.co.uk.

Q. What do I do if I don't want to receive the new reward emails?

A: To opt out, please let us know by emailing nectar@britishgas.co.uk with the subject line 'Unsubscribe'. 

Q. Why has the Nectar programme changed?

A: We've shifted the balance of how we reward our customers. We want to give you the choice to enjoy different rewards such as exclusive offers, points or both.

Q. Will I still collect points for submitting meter reads?

A: No, points are no longer automatically awarded Nectar points for the following actions:

  • Welcome points when joining
  • Holding an energy and/or services contract
  • Being a Dual Fuel customer
  • Switching to Direct Debit
  • Submitting meter readings
  • Booking an engineer visit online
  • Switching to paperless communications

Q. Will the way I collect points be changing with other Nectar partners?

A: These changes relate to British Gas only.
