To qualify, you’ll need to have already had a boiler installed by British Gas. Then simply get your referral link and tell your friends and family.
2. Your friend gets their new boiler installed
After using your referral code and getting their new boiler installed, your friend joins the British Gas family.
3. Then you both get rewarded
Both you and your friend will then get a £100 Amazon voucher or £100 in your Paypal account or £50 Hive voucher. Remember, you can refer as many friends as you like, so start sharing!

If not, then unfortunately you can’t take part in our refer a friend programme.
However, if you are looking for a new boiler then you’re in luck. You can get an energy-efficient boiler with up to 3 years’ interest-free1 credit and up to 12 years’ warranty. And of course, you’ll be able to refer your friends too!

Who can refer a friend?
Any existing British Gas customer who has had a boiler installed in the last 7 years, with their customer reference number.
How do I refer a friend?
It’s simple. You just need an online account (you can set up one here if you haven’t got one already). After we’ve verified your details, you’ll get a unique referral link which you can send to as many friends as you like.
How do I find my customer reference number?
You’ll find it on correspondence you get from us about your boiler installation. Just take a look at any letters or emails. If you still can’t find it, just give us a call on 0333 202 9560 and our friendly advisers will be able to help.

What do I do if I’ve been referred by a friend?
To be eligible for the referral bonus, you’ll need to follow the unique link that your friend sent you. From there, you can begin your new boiler journey – simply fill in your details, choose your perfect boiler and select an installation date.
It’s important that you follow the links above to book your installation, so that we know you’ve been referred. Otherwise, you won’t be eligible for the referral gift card. Once you’ve completed your purchase, you won’t need to do anything else. We’ll verify your details and send you your Amazon.co.uk or Hive gift voucher via email – this can take up to 90 days.
What reward will we get?
Once you’ve completed your purchase, we’ll get in touch and you can select either a £100 Amazon voucher or £100 in your Paypal account or £50 Hive voucher. 2. See terms and conditions (PDF, 44KB) for more details.
When will we get our gift cards?
We’ll process your vouchers after you book your boiler installation using the referrer links, paid your initial deposit and met all relevant terms. This can take a little time to set up. We’ll send you and your friend your gift voucher within three months.
Remember, if you make a qualifying purchase but you cancel your agreement within 90 days, you and your friend will no longer be eligible for the gift vouchers.
Can I be referred if I’ve already had a boiler installed?
If it’s been installed by us in the last seven years and you’ve got your customer reference number – then yes. But if it’s been over seven years, unfortunately not.
If I’m referring a friend, how many people can I invite?
As many as you like! There’s no limit to the number of bonuses you can earn, provided you meet the terms of the Refer a Friend scheme
I’ve completed a purchase using my friend’s unique referral link, but I haven't received my gift voucher. What should I do?
Once your boiler's been installed, we need a little time to do some checks – this can take up to 90 days. If you haven’t received your gift voucher after 90 days, check that you both meet the terms of the promotion.
If you’ve met all the terms of the promotion and you don’t think your reward should have been cancelled, please email britishgas@referme.to and we’ll look into it for you.
