Frequently asked questions

Q. What type of problems do you fix?

A: For electrical repairs, we could help with things like sockets, light fittings, light switches, fuse box, wiring, wall sockets, transformers and circuit breakers. For kitchen appliances, we could help with things like timers, heaters, pumps, motors and internal thermostats to get your appliance working properly again.

Q. Can you fix my problem first time?

A: It’s always our aim but it depends on the problem and whether we need to get you a part we don’t have with us. If we do need to get our hands on something we don’t have, we might need to come back. If our engineer doesn’t have the part they need, they’ll order it from our national distribution centre. If it’s Monday to Saturday, it’ll usually be with them the next morning. We’ll keep you updated and let you know when we’ll have the part so we can come back and fix your issue.

Q. What happens if you can’t fix my problem?

A: If we can’t fix it, we won’t charge you anything. Our engineer will let you know straightaway and tell you your options so you can decide what you want to do next.

Q. What happens if you find more than one problem?

A: If it’s related to the original problem, we’ll repair it as part of our fixed price. But we’ll charge you extra if you ask us to do any work that’s unrelated to why you called us originally. Like if you called us to fix a problem with your fuseboard, but also asked us to fix a broken light fitting while we were there.

Q. What if I want to cancel?

A: It’s an easy process, but it changes depending on what stage of the repair you’re at. If you’ve signed up for either option and we haven’t started any work you have a 14-day cooling off period which starts the day we deliver any parts, or the day you accept our quote (if the job needs labour but no parts). If you’ve asked us to start the work before the 14-day cooling off period finishes we’ll charge you what we think is reasonable for the work we’ve already done and any parts we’ve installed for you. If you’ve gone for repair and cover - and you want to cancel your cover - you might have to pay a cancellation charge. That’s if we’ve already done any work as part of your agreement. But the cancellation charge won’t include your initial repair.

Q. What if I still have questions about repairs?

A: Just give us a call on 0800 975 1981 and one of our team will be able to help you. We're here all day, every day to help. Calls are free from mobiles and landlines. We record calls to help improve our service to you.
