It lets British Gas keep an eye on your boiler and detects when it stops heating your radiators or generating hot water, so you don't get left in the cold. See how it could benefit you.
We'll constantly monitor your boiler to spot if it stops heating your radiators or generating hot water.
If we detect it’s failed, we’ll contact you to help get things sorted as quickly and conveniently as possible under your HomeCare agreement or British Gas Warranty.
They’ll have access to all the data from the boiler to help them understand what’s gone wrong. And we'll pre-order the parts you might need.
We'll send one of our engineers round to install a small device inside or alongside your boiler.
This will send information wirelessly to a small hub which we'll connect to your broadband router. This allows us to constantly monitor your boiler in real time to determine its health.
Boiler IQ is available to our HomeCare customers with a compatible Worcester Bosch boiler for a £3 monthly monitoring fee. There is a £49 installation charge if there is a planned engineer visit, otherwise it's £99.
If you have a new compatible Worcester Bosch boiler fitted by British Gas, you’ll also be able to upgrade your 5 year boiler warranty to include Boiler IQ, so you’ll receive alerts when your boiler breaks down. You’ll just need to pay the £49 installation cost, then the monitoring fee will be free for the duration of your warranty.
You do need to own a home and be living there. You'll need broadband, a spare port in your internet router and an available plug socket close to the router. It's as simple as that.
