2. Complete questionnaire: Tell us about your appliances so we can get authorisation for your charger
3. Video chat: We’ll do a virtual home check and answer any questions
4. Charger installation: Usually takes 3-5 hours.

- Your Hive EV charger is included in our Home Electrical cover, from £2.50 a month
- We’ll repair or replace your Hive EV charger following breakdown, accidental damage or damage caused by theft or vandalism
- Also includes cover to repair faulty wiring, switches, sockets and fittings around your home
Additional information
Power+ is only available for customers with a compatible EV charger and a British Gas electricity tariff with a smart meter in credit mode. Based on our assumed efficiency conversion of 3.3 miles/kwh, savings assume that you are on the British Gas EV Power v2 tariff (prices correct as at 17/10/2025) and all charging is in Power+ mode in your off peak period. If on a Time of Use tariff, we will only charge your EV during the off-peak window while in the Power+ schedule mode.
