How does the Hive Active Heating installation work?
If you purchase Hive Active Heating with professional installation, our fully trained British Gas engineers will install
your thermostat, Hive Hub and receiver to get your Hive system up and running in around an hour.
You can also self install.
Can I buy a Hive Active Heating subscription?
The Hive Active Heating subscription is no longer available. We now offer a 12 month payment plan as
an alternative. The plan allows you to spread the cost of the kit over 12 months. Once the 12 months are up,
you can continue to pay £2.99 a month for Hive Live or cancel the Hive Live subscription and pay nothing.
How do I set up my Hive Active Heating thermostat?
It is possible to install Hive Active heating yourself. Hive have created a guide for installing it which you can download here (PDF, 855kb)
Why do I need a Hive Signal Booster?
If you have a large house, one with thick walls or live in an area where other devices are causing wireless interference you may need a signal booster to help your Hive devices talk to each other and extend the wireless range of your system.
What if I have more than one thermostat in my home?
Hive Active Heating comes with multizone capability that allows you to control up to 3 heating zones through the Hive App. You’ll need a separate thermostat and receiver for each heating zone.
Does Hive Active Heating work with all boilers?
It works with the vast majority of them, yes. When our engineer comes to install Hive Active Heating, they’ll check everything is up and running before they leave.
