If you’ve bought your new place, you’ll need to organise home insurance to start from your exchange date. We’ve been looking after Britain’s homes for over 200 years and our Five Star rated insurance means you’re covered if things go wrong. It’s quick and easy to get a quote, and if you’re an existing customer you just need to let us know you’re moving.

Once you’re in

New home supplied by us? We’ll make things simple
If we already supply energy to your new home and you’re not an existing British Gas customer, we’ll get your account set up as soon as possible. It can take a few weeks to get sorted, but don’t worry your supply won’t be affected. So you can still celebrate with a cuppa on moving day.

Check you’re on the best tariff
It’s worth checking your energy tariff to make sure you’re getting the best deal for your energy needs – whether you’re a new or existing British Gas customer. It only takes a few minutes and we won’t charge you any exit fees if you switch to one of our other tariffs.

Get your boiler serviced
It’s always a good idea to get your new boiler checked out by a qualified Gas Safe engineer as soon as possible – and we’ve got experts on hand across the UK. Just book a service and we’ll make sure it’s working properly and let you know if it needs any further repairs. And if it’s time for a new one completely, we’ll help you find one that suits your home and your budget.
