How do I take out boiler and heating cover?

Once we've installed your new boiler, call us on 0333 009 5747 and we'll get your new boiler and heating cover set up for you.

How much does boiler and heating cover cost?

Our exclusive HomeCare offer for new boilers gives you peace of mind for less. Here's what you'll pay in your first two years:

With a £60 excess

£7 a month in year one.

From £14.50 a month in year two, including your annual boiler service worth £99.

With a £0 excess

£13 a month in year one.

From £19 a month in year two, including your annual boiler service worth £99.


This offer is only available within six months of your boiler's installation date. If you choose to take out cover after that, you'll pay from £14.50/£19 a month (depending on your excess). This will include your annual boiler service worth £99.

Do I need a boiler service?

All boilers installed by British Gas require an annual service to stay under warranty. And having one every 12 months is the best way to keep yours working safely and efficiently for years to come.

When you choose our HomeCare cover for new boilers, you'll get an annual service (worth £99) included in your second year — and every year have HomeCare. That way, your boiler warranty will remain valid and you'll enjoy peace of mind knowing it's working as it should.

Where can I find the details of my warranty?

You can find your warranty terms and conditions in your customer documents. These were either given to you by our Heating Sales Adviser during our initial quote visit, or emailed to you if you purchased your boiler online. Alternatively, you can read them at britishgas.co.uk/WarrantyTerms.

You'll also find your warranty customer reference number on the top right of your membership pack.

What does my warranty cover and how is it different to HomeCare?

Your boiler warranty offers basic cover in case something goes wrong with your new boiler. You'll need an annual boiler service after your first year to keep it valid, which isn't included. But with HomeCare, you can relax with expert protection for your whole heating system — including your annual boiler service worth £99.

I'm already a customer, will my existing HomeCare cover change?

After we install your new boiler, we'll automatically update your existing cover to reflect your boiler's warranty — so you won't pay for extra cover you don't need. And depending on how you pay, we'll write to you to confirm any changes to your Direct Debit – or any refund you may be owed. This can take a few days to update, but don't worry, you don't need to do anything.

If your existing cover is about to renew, any changes will take effect on your upcoming renewal date. And we'll send you an updated renewal letter or email to confirm this.

If your HomeCare includes Plumbing and Drains cover and/or Home Electrics cover, or if you currently have any other types of cover unrelated to your boiler or heating (eg Kitchen Appliance Cover), these will still continue as normal.
