There might be a power cut in your area. So you'll need to:

  1. Get in touch with your local operator. They'll be able to help you.

  2. Turn off all your appliances.

  3. Keep one light on so you know when the power's back on.

What if it's just my house without electricity?

If you've done the checks above and your electricity still isn't working and you have Home Electrical Cover, book an engineer online or call our Breakdowns and enquiries line.

How do I keep safe when my electricity's down?

Don't use your gas cooker to heat your home - doing that can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. And be careful with other kinds of heating and lighting, like paraffin heaters and candles.
