If you don’t already have it, download the Google Assistant app. It’s available on Android and iOS devices. You can then access Boiler Support on your Google Home device or on any smartphone.
Then, if you think there’s a problem with your boiler, you simply say to your Google Home device (or to the open Google Assistant app on your smartphone): “Ok Google, talk to Boiler Support”. The system will then help you troubleshoot the issue.
Will Boiler Support ask me to do anything that voids my current Boiler Cover?
No, we’ll only talk you through the most common issues and describe how to reset your boiler, increase the temperature on your thermostat or check there’s power to your boiler.
Is it dangerous to try and fix my boiler without an engineer?
No, we’ll only tell you how to carry out fixes that are already in your user manual.

Is British Gas always listening?
No, depending on what device you are using, the Action must be triggered for us to listen. If you’re using a Google Home device we only listen once you say: “Ok Google, talk to Boiler Support.” If you don’t say anything for 8seconds, Boiler Support stops listening. You can then restart the Action by saying; “Ok Google, talk to Boiler Support” to continue.
If you’re using your mobile device to interact with the Action, you have to trigger the microphone for it to work –only then will Boiler Support be able to listen.
