Gas is the most common heating fuel in the UK. If you have a gas meter, your boiler probably uses gas, liquid petroleum gas is stored in a tank outside your home.

If you get instant hot water, but don't have a cylinder or water tank, you have a combi boiler whereas, if you have a cold water tank and hot water storage cylinder in your house, you have a standard boiler.
