Do I need to inform my current supplier I’m switching?

You do not need to tell your supplier that you’re switching. We’ll be in contact with your current energy supplier and will handle the switch for you.

Is it worth switching energy supplier?

Does switching cost anything?

Switching shouldn't cost anything, and any credits from your previous supplier should be returned to you within 14 days of your final bill.

If you're on a fixed-rate tariff, there might be an exit fee to pay if you leave before your fixed rate ends. Otherwise, switching should be free - but check with your current supplier if you're not sure. Any credits from your previous supplier should be returned to you within 14 days of your final bill.

Can I switch energy supplier if I rent?

Yes. Renters can generally switch energy suppliers, so long as they pay energy bills directly and are not paying them through a landlord. If you’re unsure of whether you pay your bills directly or not, check your tenancy agreement or visit Citizens Advice.

Can I switch energy supplier if I’m moving home?

You can switch to us when you move into a new home, but the process can only begin once you're legally responsible for the property. Switching doesn’t happen straight away — you’ll need to pay at least one bill with the existing supplier first.
