Variable Price Plan
If you've been on one of our fixed plans and not agreed a new contract before it ends, you'll be put on our Variable Price Plan. Also known as a VPP or out of contract rates.

Our flexible energy supply contract gives businesses control over their energy costs through managing commodity risk. Available for business users over 1GWh via an online purchasing portal.

We offer fixed term energy plans, flexible rolling contracts as well as tailored business energy plans for customers with half-hourly meters or customers looking for greener business energy.
All our fixed price and fixed term British Gas Business electricity plans are zero carbon2 as standard, which is backed by electricity from renewable energy sources (72%) and nuclear generation (28%). Our renewable energy for business plans have a 100% renewable fuel mix.

The 10-week trial Switch and Save offer is available exclusively to customers who sign up for British Gas Lite. This offer may be withdrawn with 24 hours’ notice at the discretion of British Gas business. Customers already included in the trial but not yet on supply can still participate, as long as their contract start dates fall within the specified period of 1 September to 9 November 2025. A £50 credit per meter will be applied after the sale is completed and will appear on your bill once your supply is live. All credits will be processed by the end of 2026.
The credit may be reversed if:
- You do not remain in contract for the full term, or
- Your consumption falls below the agreed level.
Not meeting the terms of the offer does not constitute a breach of contract.
