Recently, some of the publications in which we advertise have been spotlighted by campaigners. We understand the strength of feeling around this issue. 

British Gas serves around 10 million households in the UK, all of whom represent a variety of opinions. As such we advertise across a range of media, both on and offline. We advertise where we can best reach our existing and future customers.

We are a politically neutral business, and our advertising is planned separately to, and in advance of, a newspaper’s editorial agenda. We have no say in the content or positioning of the stories that sit around our adverts.     

The Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) regulates newspapers in the UK, and decides whether content published by them meets the established editorial code of practice.
