Top Nosh catering is a small, family owned business based in Leamington Spa formed in 2005. Owner Liz Abbotts employs 6 people, who provide catering services for local business meetings and parties. A catering firm can’t manage without plenty of hot water for washing up, so Liz knows how dependent she is on her boiler to help keep her business running. A boiler breakdown would shut the business until the problem was fixed, and with a calendar of events to cater for, Liz wanted to minimise the risk of letting down her customers. Liz had relied on a local engineer, but found that they weren’t always available to respond as quickly as she needed. So she took out a British Gas Business boiler service and maintenance plan (Careplan).
When the boiler began to lose pressure, and Liz didn’t have any hot water, she called for an engineer. Kyle, one of British Gas’s Gas Safe registered engineers, went out the same day, identified the problem with the boiler and quickly ordered a replacement part. When the part arrived on the following day, Kyle went back to fix the boiler.Â He also serviced the boiler so that Liz was compliant with Gas Safety Regulations and providing a safe working environment for her employees.Â Later that afternoon, Kyle phoned Liz to check that the boiler was still working properly.
