A Variable Price Plan or Standard Variable Rate is a business energy tariff that may apply if you're not on a fixed-term contract. Your energy supply continues without interruption, but your rates can change over time.

Why am I on a Variable Price Plan or Standard Variable Rate if I didn’t choose it?

You may be on a Variable Price Plan or Standard Variable Rate because your previous energy contract has ended and you haven’t agreed a new one yet. When this happens, your account automatically moves onto a default rate so your supply continues without interruption.

Will my prices change on a Variable Price Plan?

Yes, prices can change in line with the market. If they do, we’ll always give you at least 30 days’ notice.

Can I switch to a fixed energy plan later?

Yes. You’re free to move to one of our fixed energy plans whenever you’re ready.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No. A Variable Price Plan has no long-term commitment, so you’re not locked into a fixed plan.

What should I do if I want more price certainty?

If you want more predictable energy costs, you can switch to a fixed energy plan at any time.
