How your gas smart meter works
Say goodbye to estimated bills
Your smart meter uses the same technology as mobile phones to send us your meter readings remotely, securely and reliably. By automatically sending us monthly meter readings, we can make sure your bills are more accurate.
To help you understand your gas smart meter and to get the most from it, we’ve included a useful guide below:
Gas meter BK-G10E
- This is the serial number of your smart meter. You’ll see it on all your bills too
- This optical port is used by your smart meter engineer
- Use these buttons to see the date, time and your current meter readings
- This tells you the make and model of your smart meter
You might have a data logger device fitted to your existing gas meter, instead of having a smart embedded gas meter. Data loggers work in the same way as a smart meter by using mobile phone technology to send us your readings remotely. You don’t need to read your meter, but if you still want to, you can read it in the usual way.
